A statement from the shopping centre reads: “With full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the shopping centre, Sandra will play a key role in managing the centre’s plans for 2024 and in working with the team to secure new and exciting occupiers.

“Sandra will also be instrumental in building on the shopping centre’s outstanding reputation to occupiers and shoppers alike.

“Sandra joined Birchwood Shopping Centre almost 10 years ago as a part-time administrator and her role evolved organically over the years as the management structure changed.

“She held the role of resources manager before becoming deputy centre manager in 2022.”

Sandra said: “I am so excited to take on the challenge of shopping centre manager at Birchwood.

“I have been at the centre for almost 10 years and have seen it go through many changes over that time.

“The special thing about Birchwood is the variety, every day is so different to the one before. There can be challenges but the things you do really make a difference.

“I consider myself very lucky to be able to say that I absolutely love my job.

“I intend to spend more time down in the centre in my new role, meeting occupiers and speaking to shoppers.

“We have lots of exciting new occupiers joining us over the coming months and I am delighted to be a part of that.”

Former centre manager, now associate director and shopping centre lead at Ashdown Phillips & Partners, the shopping centre’s managing agent, John Magee, said: “I have worked with Sandra for many years and I can’t think of a better person to take on this role.

“She knows the centre better than anyone and having lived in Warrington all her life has strong links to the community.

“I know she has the passion to make a positive difference to our loyal customers and occupiers.”
