A family has hit the jackpot after winning tens of thousands of pounds on the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The winner, from the STR7 3PR postcode in Mow Cop, was announced to have won the £30,000 street prize draw that was held today (Sunday, February 20).
But as the player had two tickets, this doubled their winnings to £60,000.

The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “We’ve got a lot of things going on and we’ll certainly find things to spend it on. We’ll take the family out for a big meal next week and we’ll sit down and decide what to do with it.”
When asked how they first felt after learning how much they had won, the winner added: “I was a little numb at first and was walking around in a daze.
“It’s been sinking in now just how lucky we were. It’s going to make things a lot more comfortable, it’s great.”
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt congratulated the winner and said it was a ‘lovely way’ for the family to end their week.
She said: “I’m sure their mind will be racing with possibilities for the winnings and I hope they enjoy treating themselves with the cash.”
People’s Postcode Lottery costs £10 a month to play and there are guaranteed winners every day. People play with their chosen postcode and are automatically entered into all draws.
Players have helped raise over £850 million to date for thousands of good causes across Britain and internationally.
