We visited Riverside McDonald’s after its big revamp – here’s what we thought

The restaurant, located on the Riverside Retail Park in the town centre, shut in the middle of October.

Reopening officially on November 18, we decided to pay the beloved fast food establishment a visit to check out the changes for ourselves.

As we entered the store, we were impressed with how fresh and modern it felt.

The new interior was pleasing to look at, and the addition of some bunting and a balloon arch to celebrate the reopening was fun and made us feel very welcome.

We ordered using the touchscreens that have become a common feature of fast food restaurants, particularly McDonald’s.

There was a wide range of food to choose from, and we settled on some of the exciting new items from the World Menu Heist range.

We tried the Garlic and Black Pepper McNuggets, the Maple BBQ & Bacon Double Quarter Pounder, and the Mac & Cheese Triangles.

Our receipt didn’t print correctly, but the staff were very friendly and helpful, ensuring everything was sorted for us and we could collect our order.

We decided to dine in to fully soak in the electric atmosphere – for a Wednesday lunchtime, it was relatively busy, with the restaurant packed full of happy customers.

We didn’t have a long wait for our food, and it was piping hot when it arrived.

Everyone was impressed with the new menu items, with the Garlic and Black Pepper McNuggets being a real highlight.

The food was flavourful, filling, and fantastic value for money.

The burger was covered in rich, creamy maple BBQ sauce, and was washed down with a refreshing, crisp Diet Coke.

Before leaving, we checked out the bathroom facilities, which were clean and well-signposted.

All in all, we would definitely recommend paying the newly refurbished restaurant a visit – you won’t be disappointed!
