Woman faces murder charge over road death of Ryan Watson, 25

A woman has been charged with the murder of a young man who died in a road collision three weeks ago. She will appear in court today (Friday, May 27).

Ryan Watson, 25, died at around 11.40pm on May 6 after he was hit by a black Ford Fiesta Zetec on Sandbach Road, Rode Heath, near Alsager. He was on foot at the time of the incident, which happened near the junction with Keats Drive.

The driver of the car, Alice Wood, 22, was arrested in connection with his death before being released on bail. Yesterday, Cheshire Constabulary detectives investigating Ryan’s death said she had been rearrested and remanded in custody.

Wood, from Draycott Cross Road, Cheadle, Staffordshire, has been charged with murder. She is scheduled to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court today.
